The Last of Our Summer Bucket List Update

School started last week, so you know what that means. It means bye bye summer and hello Fall. As much as I like summer, when September comes, I'm ready to go back to our regular routine.

So here is my last update on our Summer Bucket List. We did not get to do everything on the list but we did a lot of stuff that was not on the list. That was even more fun!

We had the chance to eat outside a lot this summer but it was fun to enjoy this nice little picnic in our backyard!

My son wanted to go the the water slides for his birthday but the weather did not cooperate, so we ended up going to Funtropolis. They had so much fun. Great place to go if you have young kids.

My daughter is helping me prepare my son's favourite dessert, sugar pie.

Special request from my son for his 6th birthday. No cake but a sugar pie.

Fishing time!

A great afternoon at the lake.

So unfortunately we did not go to the waterpark, go biking or go see the fireworks. We replaced the water slides with Funtropollis, the kids did some biking in our yard and for the fireworks, it just didn't work out.

I've learned something while making that summer bucket list. It can be fun to plan activities for the summer but you need to leave some time for spur of the moment and surprise! So next year, no summer bucket list!

  1. Your kids look like they has such a fun time together this summer; its great that they get along so well! I'm a little curious about sugar pie -- I've never heard about that before, although I can guess at its major ingredient! It's been fun following along with your summer bucket list, even if you don't have one for next summer.

  2. OMG Anna, if only pictures could talk.... My kids fight all the time....but they still like to play together sometimes. Sugar pie is more of a French Canadian dish. This one is made with brown sugar and maple syrup. Yummy!
