A Simple Fall Weekend

This weekend was a really great and relaxing weekend. We had no plans, and that doesn't happen often enough. This gave us the chance to do a bit of work around the house, winterize the pool and do some fun family stuff like make Halloween cupcakes and go apple picking.

Here are a few pictures of our fun yet simple fall weekend.

We made those cute Halloween cupcakes. I think my daughter is anxious to taste them.

Got those cupcakes Halloween decorations at the dollar store. Cute, cheap and fun!

And she his ready for the taste test.

Sunday was apple picking time. This was so much fun! Guess I will be coming up with some apple recipes in the next few weeks!

I've never seen them eat so many apples in one day!

There was even a little park at the orchard, the kids really enjoyed their morning there.

Apple picking is such a great family activity and it's really not expensive. For $20, you get two bags of apples, a tractor ride and a lot of fun! You can bring a picnic and spend the day there if you want. They also have delicious homemade goodies. But what is even better, is knowing the kids will have great memories when they grow up.

Did you go apple picking this year?

  5. Love this post! I love fall! Based on how the kiddos were dressed, it looks like those apples were the perfect temperature to be eating straight off the tree - yum!

  6. Oh, I'm so jealous that you got to go apple picking! (I'm a Florida girl.) We went while on vacation last year. Those were the best apples I've ever had.

  7. What a fun little place! I love that places that really welcome families and make it a full day of fun. Sure, just an apple orchard is nice, but making it family friendly can be such a huge draw! Looks like you guys had an amazing fall weekend!

  10. I have been trying to find a good apple orchard or pumpkin patch in my area. It's hard when you live downtown in a city!
