Here is a picture I took of me yesterday before my first walk.
I would like to see a difference in my legs, love handles and butt.
I know the picture is not that good but the scale reads 126 pounds, I would like it to read 120 pounds.
I cant' believe I'm actually writing this post, even more showing you those pictures. But I've tried so many times to start exercising and I've never kept it up! It usually lasts for a week or two, then I'm done.
Hopefully by writing this post and showing you those pictures, it will give me the extra motivation I need to not give up! After all, I don't want to be perceived as a failure, and I do want to show you some results in a little while.
I'm motivated in seeing a difference, not only in the way my body looks but in the way my body feels and the way I feel physically and mentally.
Two days have passed and I have to admit that when it's time to go for that walk, I really don't feel like it, but when I come back, I feel great! Hope I have great results to show you soon!
Any advise on how to stay motivated?
Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Caroline: You're so brave posting those pics! Motivation is tough, but given how organized you are, I'd say try making a list and a chart, and seeing if you can achieve a goal. Maybe walking 500 kilometers by Halloween, or something like that? Anyway, best of luck, and I'm happy to provide whatever encouragement I can! (BTW, if all you want to lose is 6 pounds, then you are way ahead of me! I'd like to lose 16!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna, my goal for now is just sticking to this and then I will probably make a plan like you said. Great idea!
DeleteActually, Caroline, I think you are already finding your motivation in how great you feel after you walk :) It seems to work best when we focus on feeling well and taking care of our bodies instead of thinking about deprivation. I will be watching your progress, as I could use a little inspiration myself!
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie, I will be sure to post my progress and hopefully my motivation will last for a long time and maybe even become part of my daily routine.
DeleteHi! Just checking in to see how you are doing with your walking. When during your day is it easiest for you to find time to walk?
ReplyDeletelove walking! you do a lot of exercise and have a great time too!
ReplyDeleteyour body looks great aalready!
Thanks, I like walking to I also like doing yoga so I alternate now!
ReplyDeleteWell, where we are, it's starting to get a bit nippy. My best advice is carry a thermos with mulled cider or a low sodium soup for the outdoors- carry it in a backpack: This will keep your energy level going.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Cindy!
Deletedamn sexy! youre giving me some motivation to do the same!
ReplyDeleteIf I could motivate one person then I'm happy!
Deletewow talk about sexi ;) I wish I was that many lbs lol add a 100 on that , now everyone knows why I am having such a hard time with my wieght , just don't have anyone who wants to walk with me or work out together,,, such a bummer but so happy for you......
ReplyDeleteI have to do it by myself as well but with music, it's o.k.
DeleteAwesome! I'm going to try to follow in your footsteps! I can take the dog along!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I do. The dog isvreally happy :).
DeleteGood for you! Keep up the good work! I walk with my mom in the neighborhood once a week (she lives around the corner), do Zumba on Tuesdays and try to get to the gym for the treadmill at least once more during the week. I make it to step class on Fridays about twice a month usually but scheduling has been bad lately. My goal is 3 to 4 times a week. I want to lose about 9 more pounds.
ReplyDeleteMy god! That's amazing. You are really good to do all that!
Deletewhat keeps me motivated is to think in the final goal and how i would feel. and i am sure u can do it u already look good to me but i get it if u want to loose a few pounds that is great =D
ReplyDeleteThanks, well I did it and I lost my 6 pound so I'm pretty happy. Did not see a big change in my body so for the colder weather, I will replace walking with yoga.
ReplyDeleteWalking is a good exercise. I used to walk and I'd put the velcro ankle weights on.They are inexpensive and they really do help tone up your legs. I never (hardly ever) weigh myself. Right now, I'm trying to stay at 105. I have trouble keeping weight on. Not that I'm complaining. About 20 years ago, I weighed 60 lbs. more. Then it just started coming off.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I don't remember the last time I weighed 105 pounds, LOL. I was probably 15.
